Mug Shot

4 x 4
oil on panel
And again, out of the workshop came this exercise of painting from mug shots.  This was especially fun to do because it was small and I really started to loosen up, using lots of greens, blues, purples, and grays to express his sallow complexion and mood.

People in the class really got into this one - and have decided to keep it up by doing a series of all our mugs.  A great way to keep connected and keep painting.  I'm looking forward to "seeing" everyone again.

  1. Terri, great job! I love the expression that you have captured in this guy's face. It makes me wonder what he is thinking about. Looking forward to more mug shots, right?
