Well we've come to the 12th mug out of our class of 18, and this week is artist Dawn Hartigan. Dawn is not only an outstandingly nice person, she's one of the most prolific painters in our class. When I was still dinking around three days later with the first day's assignment, she probably had finished a dozen or so paintings. Maybe that's a slight exaggeration. As always, you can view all of our interpretations of each other as they come in, on our Hilton Head Gang blog here.
Terri, I'd love to say your mugs keep getting better but... they've been great from the beginning, and Dawn is no exception!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how she looks perfectly 'right' (you caught her) and still so 'wrong' since she's looking so hard and angry.
I love the movement in this mug, and how the 'halo' in the background just fits so well.
As always, I'm amazed!
You just always know how to make my day - thank you! That halo effect came from wiping off the first background and then I thought, "hmm, I like it,". How much of art is accidental I wonder.
DeleteDawn looks wonderful and I, too, love the halo! I love your skin tones and the almost frown expression on her face.
ReplyDeleteThank you Maria - she is kind of an angel after all. And I don't think she does "frown face" very often.
DeleteThis is wonderful. I love the expression you captured!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy - she has such great features. You'll enjoy painting her!
ReplyDeleteWow you took ten years off my face! Thanks a bunch.:) I love my scowling expression - I look like I live dangerously.
ReplyDeleteDawn I'm glad you like it and that expression is so NOT you!
