The Red Turban

9 x 12
oil on masonite

I painted this today on a whim and I love how it turned out.  This is from a photograph posted on The Daily Paintworks Challenge site.  I couldn't resist the chance to do a classic "woman at her bath" painting so thank you Carol Marine for providing the great material!  Go to the site to see the other interpretations.

  1. Terri, this is wonderful! I love how you made it your own by painting her "turban" red. Love it!

  2. Thank you Linda! I thought a good, sparky red would compliment the greenish toned wall and pull out the nice rosy skin tones. And I can't pass up a chance to use transparent vermilion (Holbein), such a great juicy color!
