Spring Pickin's

6 x 6
oil on masonite

This is a little painting I did for a local show of "Little Art" but never quite got around to entering on time. I might have mentioned my tendency to procrastinate. This is my husband Scott, shopping for spring flowers.

  1. I think this is a little painting with a lot of depth and color and perspective going on. I wish it could have been entered at Artlink!

  2. Ter, You can tell that is Scott. It's amazing all of the nuances that are captured by an artist's eye. Makes me want to go hangout at... whatever they call Sandpoint now.

  3. So nice to meet you, Terry. I was so surprised to see your visit, and quite happy too! I had to run right on over and visit your blog! Each of your portraits are absolutely wonderful, but my eyes keep coming back to this one...I can almost smell that rich earth and moisture garnered in the greenhouse. I find myself awed by the planning and precision that went into this hothouse; it is so beautiful!

  4. Sherry, thanks so much for this nice surprise! I wish you had an email posted so as to be sure to get this reply - Thank you for the compliments and encouragement. I've been away from painting for a long, long time ( let's see, my son is 26 now so probably for almost that long ) although I've had a few faltering attempts to get back to it along those years. I've finally thrown myself back into trying to develop the skills with some determination and I know we all appreciate the support our blog buddies have given - it certainly makes a difference to me! I noticed on your blog, the link to the instrument builder - are you a musician as well as artist? My husband and I met because of dulcimers! Thank you again for your kind remarks,
